I'm not against hobbyist and 3rd party software - I just wouldn't expect the manufacturer to condone it's use. It's not designed to use software other than that of the manufacturer. I think a more similar comparison would be if you owned a Tesla car and took the decision to use different software to control that. The iPhone is designed to use apps, Apple then have to approve those apps before they appear on their own store. These vendors help DJI, I hope this might just be a language thing, I hope If DJI don't want people to make other apps to control their hardware all they have to do is pull the sdk, but that would be a terrible business decision. What Apple does is say "don't use apps not compliant with their standards" which to date that's what DJI have done. Picture this: Apple makes an iPhone product, they also make a range of apps for that product, what if apple recommended NOT using anything other than apple made apps? Their market would just dry up.
